Basics of Photography Class – $100

Did you just get a new camera for Christmas? This class is designed as a 2 hour one-on-one hands on class. A small workbook will be emailed upon booking. The major topics which I cover are ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture. Some attention will be given to the mathematics of photography. The student is required to have a reasonable understanding of fractions and multiplication. A camera is the only required piece of equipment.

Simple Equipment, Better Photos – $100

This 2 hour class focuses on shooting subjects with simple tools. The things we have around us are perfect for creating a great image if we have the time and patience to look for them. This one-on-one class will teach you to use a reflector, window light, clouds, and even your feet to create a more impactful image.

Students must have completed the Basics of Photography Course or demonstrate a similar level of proficiency.

Lighting – $300

Studio lighting can be intimidating. Light at high noon can also pose a challenge. This 4 hour photography class will teach students how to use studio monolights, speed lights, video lights, sunlight and reflectors. The first 2 hours of class teaches the major lighting styles using studio lights to illustrate. The remaining two hours is hands on with a model or still life subject as pre-chosen. When complete, students should be able to identify the location and type of key-light, rim light and kicker, and should know broad and short lighting as well as Rembrandt, hatchet, clam-shell, split, butterfly, and back lighting.

Students must have a Reflector and an Off-Camera Flash. They must also have completed the Basics of Photography Class or the Simple Equipment, Better Photos Class.
